Buggy tires/Gearing help?

Just wanting to know what people are doing to allow the use of b4 buggy tires and wheels, I tried it and the tires hit the nerf bars making the car stop dead in its tracks, also what gears would be recomended for a 7.5 brushless set-up, I tried a 48 pitch 96t spur and a 30t pinion and it was too much(fried my LRP 6.5). I tried a smaller set of gears, but the motor wouldn't go in far enough to accept any of my pinions. I just got my Delta today so I have alot to learn about the adjustments on the car, any help would be greatly appreciated.
