what is the advantage of such a low %

what is the advantage of such a low %

Nitro burns extremely slow, so much so that it will burn @ BDC. With this in mind your methanol content goes up thus cooling the motor. If the mix has enough lubricant this will allow you to lean the motor out. Remember that oil is good but it also puts drag on the internal parts. I believe the theory is you can run the motor leaner w/ less drag on the rotating assy. Allowing for higher RPM's @ lower temps........

But this is just a theory I have.

Besides nobody really believes much of what I say anyway!:ha:

Sounds Good???

nitro is like an addictive to our rc engine. same principle as nos on the street cars. nitro doesn't burn well (it almost catergorized as non flameble/combustion agent), what nitro does is to bond with Oxygen molcules in our fuel mixture. So more nitro content the fuel has the more Oxygen is present to the fuel/air mixture hence more combustion or power is produced. In a more technical point of view is firing timing, alochol/methanol burn at very low temp and pressure hence it will burn before piston is reaching TDC (Top dead center), with nitro this can be prevented. With low nitro content in the fuel, fuel is ignited at earier time, lower chamber pressure and less oxygen in the mixture, less power is produced (Torque).
In my personal opinion, dirt oval require a smooth transitional power from off to full throttle, therefore too much nitro content result to a more sudden surge of acceleration. In another word harder for the driver to get on throttle faster and still manage to keep the car in control or prevent wheel spining during acceleration.
Well this is not a prefect world, so the quality of the methanol, nitros, lubication and container makes a huge effect on the fuel and it's performance.

John, thank you for the kind words. I hope I make you become a believer on our product. If you have any question feel free to ask.

P.S. I just got words, some people is saying there is shortage of nitro supply in usa. Just to let all interestered Tornado fan know, Tornado is not affect as we are located and do our production in Netherland. Our ownly problem right now is shipping time. It takes about 1 month to ship fuels from Europe to USA. Our next shipment of supply should be in July.

Thanks General for explaining that Nitro Content question.

One other interesting advantage of the low nitro in the OS TG engine, is the TG has a Very Low Exhaust port (Higher Exhaust Port Timing). Compression starts on the up stroke when the exhaust closes. The design of the TG with it's low exhaust port gives it more "Cranking Pressure" (Don't confuse cranking pressure with compression ratio) This will make excellent Toque, but limit the RPM, and there for peak HP, the light load of nitro, will allow the TG to RPM a little more and make more HP

Oil & Cooling............. Oil serves a few functions A) Lubrication, B) Cooling, C)Sealing Most oils being added to RC Model fuel are a combination of Synthetic & Bean......... Total % and % of each is each blenders secret............ I've been mixing my own fuels for 40 years (I'm what's call Old School) I've been using Klotz products for the last 25 years........ I feel my fuel is better than most on the market, until the "General" let me try the Tornado at the 301 Capital Classic (For you DO Guys, that's a World Class Level On-Road race)........... As an engine builder, I disassemble engines and mic the crank pin ware all the time, On-Road racing were a car runs at peak RPM for 5 minutes heats & 15 to 45 minute mains, puts a lot more stress, heat, ware & tear on an engine then DO Racing does (Sorry to tell you DO guys that!)................ Anyway at the 301 Classic with Scooby Horton as the driver, Mugen MTX4, RB X12 Rody/Oddy, when we switch to Tornado 25% Model Fuel, I was able to run much leaner (3 1/2 Hi Speed) which also gave us better run time, the engine made incredible power (we were faster then 80% of the cars)............ Now here's the kicker, the engine temperature was 300 to 315 degrees!!!!!........... normally an engine that hot slows down, we ran consistent for a 20 minute "C" main............. upon tear down for ware inspection, NO Additional Ware!! (This was a used engine to begin with)............. I'm impressed to say the least................. The Proof is I WANT TO BUY MORE TORANDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Del,

Greg stated that the freight forwarder isn't doing their job properly, and that caused a delay. He is hoping for early next week...
