Tall Paul has it right, thanks for posting the pics.
The tab that you see picture can be up or down which ever fits your servo situation better. You can run a small standoff from the tab or you can use the servo saver feature that is on the rack itself.
Sorry if there was confusion.

Try using FLANGED bearings in that rack, they will make such a difference. No slop ever. I also use a DRY Lube on the bearings.

I beleive they were 1/8x3/36 flanged. I will check later, I have to take it apart to check. I have every size of sae bearing ever made after 30 years of building these cars and often I just know what will fit by looking. But I will check. They may be a slot car rear bearing as we all raced them many years ago.

Does anyone have any pictures of this with the servo mounted and hook up? Trying to get an idea how to mount everything. Thanks for any pictures.

I know this is an old thread but I'm looking at replacing the steering rack in the CW outlaw sprinter. Any advice from anyone on this rack would be helpful.

I see Dynotech has a new style of rack, P.N. 3207D for the custom works cars. I'd still like to know if this will work on Custom Works Outlaw Sprinter's?
Every outlaw sprinter that I've seen has had an issue with the CW rack binding or locking up at one time or another.

Anyone using one of the new racks on a outlaw? Curious how they work? Haven't seen much feedback on this one...

Ronny,
This is the rack that I have in my nitro and electric Outlaw. The work great and are not as prone to getting packed with dirt.
You spoke and we listened.
We have made a new steering rack for the Custom Works Outlaw Sprint cars.
The steering rack assembly features 4 ball bearings, delrin rack, billet aluminum rack riser, carbon fiber link plate and hardware.
If you have changed your front hardware to heim joints you'll have to run the screw heads from the back of the car to the front.
If you still have the ball studs that came with your kit you'll need to take care of how long the ball stud threads stick out past the carbon fiber link plate and possibly use the supplied narrow nuts and cut down the ball stud threads so they don't hit the bearing post.
Also we made the link plate taller so that you do not have to use any spacers from your servo saver to the drag link ball. The link that goes from your servo to the rack is now located on the back of the plate, not the top.
Cost $40.00, shipping not included($7.95).
Racks are not yet on our site. If interested, call the shop or you can send PayPal to: payments@dynotech-racing.com (payments@dynotech-racing.com)
Thanks for your support.
