i am installing mip shiny cvds in my ft18b, the pin on the driveshaft wont fit into the sleeve that goes on the diff. am i supposed to grind the pin down to make them fit, or what?

you mean end to end and not in the slot ? if tis the end to end ,yes you have to grind just a bit off.
