Who's having luck with what brushless setup in the slider.
I've never used brushless in 18th before, but want to.

007, I had one in the 2nd car I had it was wicked! A little to much for the bull ring. But with some tunning it will be doable. I have a comp x mamba in it. It would pull wheelies.

I have two of these little cars I am experimenting with........
The one that is the most fun to race is Box Stock
The second car is prepped for a new modified class, IMHO, the available brushed modified motors is all you or the driveline can handle. The guys runing brushless break far too many parts for me.

Dlan44,
I race a spec class with a handout motor and pinion now, but want to build a second mod car also. What driveline are you running at? I'm going to measure the bullring I race in this weekend. As you mentioned, I suspect that will determine the motor. What brand esc do you use and what is popular at your track? Thanks for your response.
Mitch,
That's right dude, I remember that thing was wicked fast! Mamba aye.

i run a tekin mini rage with a 5.4 motor and it is quick.i haven't broken a part yet on my slider since i made the much needed mods.....
as long as you upgrade to the ball diff and buy some titanium tie rods your car will not break anymore then any other rc car out there.

George is right if you are running on shorter tracks. But tracks in the 240' + range break all kinds of things. Mostly diffs ad George said, but I have seen front ends broken off also. If you go to a ball diff it would help. I recommend the MIP one over the Losi. Right now my modified car had a brushed mod motor and the stock speed control.

Right on, I run the MIP ball diff, titanium tie rods, and alum shock bodies, so I should be good to go there.
Thanks for all your input guys!
Where can I get some Lug-a-Loo?
I guess I need to start racing with solly!
Who else is running brushless and what esc and motor are you using?

the brushless motors are not what is breaking the cars or he track size its the cars being driving into objects that don't move ;)

I don't want to hijack the thread, but since others have mentioned "modified brushed motors"...
So what are you running? What gearing would you recommend for rubber tires on a 190' smooth oval?

We have been running brushless mini's for 2 years and don't have a problem with breakage. I would suggest the Mamba competition package. it has the 6800 motor.

for myself brushless is a way to get around crappy mini motors that always fail. brushless = little to no maintenance at all.

if a person uses a radio with Throttle EPA which can be done. (You can use other 2.4Ghz radios it will bind to reciever) What 1/10 scale Brushelss boys do is dial out the EPA so the motor does not go full bore thus being able to contol the car. I would run brushless and use EPA to detune before I would use a mod brush motor. When there is a choice between BL or brushed I would go BL. IMO Brushed is dead.

Thanks everyone.
The question is : What brushless esc do you use and what motor?
I haven't seen any pattern forming yet as far as one brand being used more than another, so keep it coming.

Mamba!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Comp-X package. Can turn down the power if need be. Better to have it and not need it, than, need it and not have it.
