I am running an rc18t on dirt with a mcalister body and have been using speedys body mounts, but in 3 nights of racing I have already broken 2 mounts (last night was the first night I didnt break anything on it). Does anyone know of any other body mounts that would work better or any other suggestions for supporting the nose of the body better?

what set of holes are you using? If you use the inner ones they won't break. OR or if your interested a guy local to me sells carbon fiber ones for 10 bucks a piece, and they don't break ever.

www.thetoyz.com (http://www.thetoyz.com) is the best place to buy hop-ups for your 18t. Get the 3racing shock towers, they are cardon fiber and work really good. The mounts are perfect. I run those.

if your gonna go the 18r body mount route, get the motek shock towers, they have more adjustability in them.... and probably around the same price as everybody elses carbon fiber shock towers.

I use associated TC3 body posts. They bolt right to the rear shock tower and for the front, I use a front bumper from BRP(www.brpracing.com (http://www.brpracing.com) Part #610) You just need to heat it up with a
good old hair dryer and bend it flat. Have not broken a front mount yet.

MiniT21, ive been using the outer holes, I havnt had a problem out of the rear, but I think I will try the inside holes and see how that holds up.

Nitro94, thanks for the info on that bumper, I hadnt thought about trying to modify another bumper to work.

The 18r posts are good too, they are stronger but you need to mount them on the inside of the rear tower and you need to buy the front.

What i discovered that works best, is not to run into things. :D It's hard though dont get me wrong. The inside holes worked for me too, i broke one the whole season, and it was my fault at that.

hehe, well to be honest both times I broke one of the mounts it was from the nose of the body diging into the dirt and acting like a spring going down the back stretch. I have since raised the ride height considerably, which I am sure is why I didnt break one this past weekend. Although the 8000kv brushless motor doesnt make it easy to avoid the slower cars. ;) I can still try the inside holes on the 2 that ive already broken, becuse its not the post thats breaking, its the actual plate that its attached to.

I dont think I want to go with one of the 18r shock towers, I would prefer to get the body mounts as close to the front of the nose as possible to keep the nose from flopping around.

another thing i did on mine, is use the brp bumper and flatten it out, and cut down a tc3 foam bumper and put it on there, keeps the body from digging in, and lets you run the lower ride height.
