after the 1st weekend of racing these little bad ars cars and having a blast we found some weak spots.
the biggest is the stock motors, some have gotten a decent amount of runs on them others haven't.(they are fast though) i had maybe 5 runs on mine and it craped out on me while i was leading the A main.
the stock shocks do not hold a build for very long and the shafts bend easily.
redneck is willing to make changes to the rules to help the class grow and keep the cars durable with out breaking the bank or discouraging the new comers.
so a handful of guys and Calvin (owner of redneck) talked about possible changes.so far we are in agreement of letting tekin mini rage brushless systems in as a sub for the stock motors (5400kv max),you can change the stock shocks, tie rods and diff. all weak points on the car.
a stock motor should keep up with the 5400 bl.this way someone who just bought a slider does not have to buy a bl to be competitive. it is mainly for the durability issues with the stock motors. changing a motor every 5 or so runs will get expensive.
also adding the above items, shocks, tie rods, and diff are also done for durability issues.the stock items work well for a short period of time, terry proved that this weekend. his car was 100% stock.these are just some items that are gonna need to be addressed sooner or later.
other then that the cars are a blast to drive and i look forward to the class growing.
with that being said, all questions should be directed towards Matt or Calvin. im just a racer posting some info.

yes.
For those interested, we now have the Tekin 5.4 system in stock, which was decided by the racers to be the only allowable brushless system. We are getting one of the new dynamite systems in to see how it compares, and may allow that system since it is considerably cheaper.

whats wrong with a mamba sport system 4600kv?
nothing is wrong with it.the agreed upon motor is 5400kv and the system agreed upon was tekin.
the reason being is i was told the shop can get the tekins faster and they are easier to program. having owend both, i can say the tekin is easier to program but both esc's offer about the same advantages.
i would talk with calvin or matt if you have any questions.
