I have had these floating around for some time. Was just wondering if someone could identify, or if anyone has even seen a set of these before?

Those look to be the old TwinnK drag racing foams. Are they really really really soft? They only came in super soft but if they're indeed those tires, They'll be almost 20 years old.

After inspecting them a little closer, they seem to be made of 3 glued together layers like current multi compound foam tires.
On 2 of them all 3 layers are pretty soft, on the other set the center layer is noticeably harder than the outer 2 layers.
Thanks for the input so far.

Yup, AJs/Twinn-K foams. Tulsa just posted a car he built using them on RC10talk.com (http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=2506)...

Very cool fellas thanks for the info. I never knew where they came from I just ended up with them over the years thru some type of trade or ebay lot purchase, I don't even recall. Now if I only had something as cool as that car Doug posted to put them on.
They have still never seen any type of driving surface other than my shelf attached to my original Tamiya Lunch Box (not a re-issue) I took them off of it in favor of the original tires because lunch box's in my opinion were just that cool LOL. Thanks Again!

my dad had a set of those AJ's foam slicks on his Marui Big Bear. Of course we trued them down and modified the truck to race indoor carpet oval and occasionally carpet offroad. They're definatly 20 plus years old!:D :checkeredflag:

I got a good one for you. I R/C Dragraced for 15+yrs before the DO thing. I have an AJ's Rail Dragster, that is circa '89 or so. I won an IEDA World Championship with it in '95. The car came with the option of these. Opted not to though, just too big. LOL. The car is still in perfect shape, with the carbon pod and all.

Thats what they called them in the early 80s they were made be Twinn-K in Indianoplis, Indiana and we used them here in Rochester,NY at Mod Stock Raceway mounted on Pan car wheels to race Dirt oval as all the cars back then were Bolink Round Trackers which were pan cars converted to dirt. The AJs white dots were grat traction. Those tires are surely classic.
