Ok Guy's we are going to do what you as racers want to do. The dates on the poll are your options as when we can run the race . This poll will close on Sunday August 5th ..... I know it is only a couple days away but we need to make a decision on the date since the one posted has caused problems the end result of the poll will be what the tour does so if we have five votes and three are for one date then that is when we will race so cast your vote and make your voice be heard.

this sucks, I understand the desire for the tour to take feedback on decisions from the racers, however, there isn't another series out there that does this in any form of racing. whether it be r/c or full scale, if something happens and the race gets postponed, the sanctioning body or race promoter comes back to the racers and say's here is the date, we are running on this day with or without you.

i say this only because we will only get maybe 20-30 votes if we are lucky.:(

just my opinion

having a tour that cares about its racers and asks for thier input is great. thats why the pa nitro tour is as successfull as it is. the only issue i see about the august 12th date is the fact that the east coast tour race at wilson is on the 11th and may affect the attendance of both events. personally (im being selfish!) i would like to see it ran later in the year to better my chances of making it.

NO!!!!!
I will do everything I can to get the Mill Rescheduled at a later date just like it is not fair to trains and lanes to not have a race the same goes for the Mill. We set up a date to race there and we will race there this season it just can not be for points this year because of the tire rules in place. I tried to contact George two times this week to talk with him but he has been unavailable to this point. If the poll says we race at T&L next Sunday then we will BUT WE WILL still run the Mill.

As many of you know I normally keep my personal feelings aside from what is best for you as racers that support the tour but I am going to speak my mind on this.

My personal thoughts on this subject:

I think that the race schedule we put out for a make up date should be when we run I don't agree with a double points day at Liberty (because if someone can not make it up there then they lose double the points), I think next weekend we should be at the Mill as we agreed to do. I talked to Brock yesterday and we thought a poll would be the way to go for a make up date because of the negative backlash I personally got from a few racers. The Tour tries to do the best we can with what we have to work with unfortunately we can not control the weather and maybe we should have planned better for rain dates but we are still learning as we go and next season rain dates will be in place. We want to do what is best for everyone we also know that you can not make everyone happy. That being said we offer a points drop this year because of the amount of race's we had to run. If you dropped a date early in the season and can not make it to a rain date race that is not our fault . We want everyone to be able to race for points however if you dropped a race do not make it the tour's responsibility to make sure you can make the rest of them! I hope this whole deal works out in what is best for everyone involved the poll is close right now and there is a pretty even split between the dates . Pray for sunshine on what ever day is won in the poll I do not want to have to do this all over again ;):D

Bill, I appreciate the Tour committie trying to do what is best for the racers. I also agree with an earlier post that the sanctioning body has authority and the final say on ALL issues. It is also not fair to ask other racing events to change their schedules because their changes affect the plans of their racers.
I support you 100% even if at times I don't agree and becaue it may affect my personal plans. I voted for the October date just to show support for your decision. It may not be the best date for me or others, but sometimes we have to give rather than take.
The racers have to consider that without the committie we have NO TOUR. Let's not give them grief, we need to help make their job easy when we can. The more we appreciate them and what they are doing for us, the longer they will want to continue doing it.

I think Paul understood what I was saying. The polls are great for getting a general feel for what people think. But I also feel the Tour Comittee should not give a feel of indecision either. I did however like what Mike W had to say about the date in October. I think the track will be a lot better then from a racing point of view, like the track will probably retain more moisture with milder temps and weather, and it will be a much better racing surface.

But ultimately the Tour IS making the right call as far as sticking to its comitments to the tracks. Without following through to them will cause a lack of support from the tracks which hurts us all.

Bill- I do agree that the double point race option for Liberty is bad.

Keep up the good work guys, it will all work out in the end. And the learning experiences gained this year will only make next year that much better.

Billy,

I wasn't trying to disrespect anybody or anything.....All I wanted to see, was the "PA Tour" keep it's integrity I think this voting idea is excellent..... For now it looks like the Oct Show date is in, so I'll just have to change my vacation plans to coincide.
