Don't think I have ever seen a belt drive Dominator convert. No reason to want to. The chains had super low drag and stayed pretty clean in all conditions. I still think that for a 4wd dirt oval car, there are few better options. You could probably rig some old YZ10 pulleys if you were desperate to run a belt in the car, but why? Finding belts the right size would be an issue, too, more than likely.

The SRP-1 was very similar to a Dominator, but not identical. It was slightly narrower and and slightly used a narrower chassis spine and drivetrain, but they did use quite a few similar parts, but much of the SRP-1 could not be used on a Dominator.

Low production numbers and lots of light weight magnesium (not aluminum) on the SRP-1, made it VERY expensive in it's time. Using a generic inflation calculator, that same car today would cost about $1155, and would be shipped built, as a roller. :o

Then again, there are more than a few 2wd oval cars today that are in that price range brand new (scratch built from new parts). ;)

Thanks for info...i could have sworn it was belt drive the ones i saw but heck it was a long time ago. I guess i will continue to look for a dominator with the wide chassis like i used not the very narrow one i have seen lately.

The widths of the different Dominators are the same, with the old version having provisions for saddle packs, which weren't used very often. There was a saddle chassis car on eBay or here in the Classifieds not too long ago, in pretty good shape, too, IIRC.

Kyosho had a belt driven 4wd oval car called the Slingshot.
