Weather Forces Postponement of WDRA Albany Swing

Predictions of intermittent rain in the Albany area on Saturday and Sunday has forced the postponement this year's WRDA Albany Swing. I feel that there is a slim chance of getting the races in, but considering the high prices of gasoline and all of the travel involved, I don't see the point in everyone burning up $100 worth of gas just to sit around in the rain for a few hours.

Right now I am looking for an open weekend to reschedule these events on, that does not conflict with other big events during the summer. I'm leaning towards the first weekend of August. I will confirm that within the next couple of weeks.

The next race on the schedule is June 2nd at Chico's R/C Speedway in Lafargeville, NY. Hope to see everyone there!

nothing like the weather to mess up a weekend of racing! not only no racing but im out the hotel money!! word of advise NEVER NEVER use HOTWIRE .COM to book a room all sales are final no matter what reason all sales are final!! they suck!

Jeff go to weather . com and look at the albany area ,,,,,,,,,,,, it's raining there, I know it sucks loosing $ but you probably couldn't have raced, and your not out hotel & gas $.Seems to me he made a good call.

i would think they would give yu dbl your money back if they knew yu wern't gonna stay there 2nite, just send them a photo of yu-self ha

Sorry to hear about theHotel situation, but that's one of the reasopns they are cheap, they depend on cancelations that they don't have to pay the Hotel, yet banked your money.

As this is a big weekend with Graduations and Proms, I'd try giving the Hotel a call directly and release your room, if they can book it themselves they should at least give you a credit for later in the year when we do run.

If not you can book the speare room at Putnam's next time. LOL

Except for your room calling the event was the right move as the rain moved in around 7 AM and appears to be here for the next 20-24 hours.

i was taking the wifes new van not my gas! LMAO!!:D from the looks of the radar it was a good call. i wont use HOTWIRE again they suck. did i say that already?

hotwire booked it. they wont get my business again...

matt most of the room that were available (very few) were 130$ an night and up.

through hotwire quality inn was 82$ total
