I have a question for you truck racers............

We will be at Newville in August for our RC Pro Dirt Oval Series Divisional Event. Recently our Pro Truck minimum weight was questioned. Ours is 64oz just like yours and CW. You guys convinced me that we needed to include after market, and graphite chassis this year......so we did. Have you had any issues with your trucks being under weight????

Last weekend I had some CW East Coast Series guys 4-5oz light. They were all about the same, and my scales crapped out so I let them run. Later on I found more reliable scales, and some of these trucks were in fact 3-4oz light. Do you guys with graphite chassis have to add weight, and if so, how much?

Dlan44,

The current truck chassis that I (and a couple others) are running at Newville and the East Coast Series, and some of the PA Nitro Tour races I have had to add weight (3 oz.) to be legal. I have done this for the Open Wheel race also. I know a good many of us at the open wheel race had to add weight to be legal. This is just my opinion, that the rules have been established, and almost all of the tracks in PA have adopted the 64 oz. weight for trucks, it would cause alot of "friction" to change this after the series has started.

Hi Dell There were a few guys at the february freeze that needed to add weight those same guy's all had to add weight at the frist race as well to be legal. The graphite chassis does make them lighter but that just means they can add weight where they want to put it:D

Thanks Jack / Bill. I have NO PLANS of changing. The ONLY reason I let the guys go at Wilson was because it was a short field, ALL of them were within a ounce or two, and my scales were intermittant. The fact they ren light for that show will have NO impact on the National Points. You guys presented solid reasons for allowing the graphite chassis last year, so I complied. I used Pa and Cw min weight because the biggest support for these were in the East and it was a fair rule.

Bill, I sent you a PM on the Pa board. Call me when you can. I am working on 2008 and I need some input.
