It's fiberglass (dyed) not carbon fiber and it was made by Hot Trick.
IMHO, it was never a brand that was anything special back then, but for some reason has very high collector value today. I like the home-hacked longitudinal use of stock RC10 battery boxes instead of the LTO battery arrangement. ;)

It kind of seems like the person who ran that chassis missed the point of an "OVAL" chassis. that would be like buying a new Hawksby super modified and mounting the engine in the middle. What's the point of having a chassis designed for offset if you aren't going to use it?

that is what i was thinking why would you even think about putting the battery in like that. it must have been sombody that had no clue.

I'd say.... here is the direct quote from the ad.
"Associated RC 10 red Carbon Fiber chassis
I used this chassis on my RC 10 T truck.
The bolt pattern for the original RC 10 buggy is also the same.
[This is used but still has a lot of life left.
I have seen this chassis used on Associated pan cars. I am not sure which ones though.
It is very light weight and strong.
This chassis is rare and is hard to find
If you have any questions pleas ask, Thanks for looking"
Now I ask you, unless you were running an oval truck, why on earth would you run this chassis on a truck for offroad? i'm thinking you case one jump and you're picking up pieces.
