For members who contribute to DirtOval.com (http://www.dirtoval.com/support/index.html), we have set up a few added features in the forums. One, your username is updated to reflect the fact that you have contributed to the forum or to a local track. You will show as an italic name in the opening page "Currently Viewing" and "Today's Birthdays" lists, as well.
Some other features include a maximum of 200 stored messages in your PM inbox, 4-lines of signature including colored text and links, as well as the ability to upload a graphic to your sig file. The graphic can be 400 x 40 pixels maximum, and no larger than 25k to upload.
For those of you who have contributed already, you can find the controls for these new features in your User CP.
Thanks for supporting DirtOval.com.

We finally got it set up and tested (though it needs to be verified yet), so here's how you can soon access subscription membership:
1) Click User CP
2) Scroll to the bottom of the left column under Miscellaneous, and click Paid Subscriptions
3) Pull the drop menu under "Cost" to trigger the $10 per year subscription
4) Click Order
5) Then click Order Using PayPal (our only payment options at the moment)
You will be taken to a PayPal page for payment where you can complete the DirtOval.com subscription feature for $10 for a year of Contributing Member features.
All donations are always appreciated.
The PayPal subscription payments should be activated soon. We'll post when it's ready to go.

Bill, we're having a bit of a glitch with the Subscription link previously mentioned through your personal User Control Panel. I have some free time today to work through the problems. I'll post when the fix is complete.
I'm hoping it's not too complicated... ...my brain can't take too much more right now.

Oye, after all of this troubleshooting that I have done on this in the last week, it turns out that it was the difference of setting the subscription length from 365 days to 1 year.
Crypes.
Ok, everything now works with the DirtOval.com user subscriptions. By using your User CP link above, or going directly to this link (http://www.dirtoval.com/forums/payments.php), you can subscribe to the forums, and donate to the site at the same time. A small donation contributes and helps keep the site running and improving.
Plus, then you get cool sig files. :D

Should be updated, Bill... For some reason, the records show the transaction as a "Failure." I need to look into the system to see what happened and why.
You're good to go now, though.

Thanks guys. I think I got everyone updated to reflect current subscriptions. You should all be able to upload sig photos and have larger file limits on the photo uploads, as well as having sig files turned back on.
There are more little bonuses for subscribers, but I forgot them all, and they are listed elsewhere here. ;)

admin@dirtoval.com is no longer used for anything here, including PayPal, and hasn't been for a couple of months.
If you did not use the Subscription form (above), there is no notification or automatic activation of your subscription or contribution. There is no way for me to know that you donated for a forum subscription.
I'll go back in the PayPal records of my account to check manually, but in the future, please use the Subscription form that is described a few times earlier in this thread. ;)

Note: thanks
If you send something randomly through PayPal to a defunct address, don't tell me your screen name, don't tell me what the donation is for, don't tell me what your real name is if you're using someone else's PayPal account, don't tell me your registered forum e-mail address and don't use the Forum Subscription form built into these forums, there is absolutely no possible way that I can be a mind reader and predict that it was you who sent the donation for the Forum Subscription. ;) See what I mean? :D :p
I'll change your account manually and get you updated as a Forum Subscriber. Your new forum features and options should be available in a few minutes.
Thanks,
d

Sorry for the spastic reminder notices, guys. I don't know what is happening to cause that, but I'll try to fix it. Maybe the system just REALLY wants you to re-subscribe. :D
I'm laid up at home today with back spasms, so I'll see if I can figure out what is causing that to happen.

Rob,
When I sent my paypal to renew my contributing member it asked for $10 in the e-mail. It deducted from my paypal twice, once to send you $10 and once to send Doug Carter $10, both at the same time. Personally the $20 is fine with me, but sending it to two differnet people for one website seems like a bit much. ;)
Don't worry about any kind of refund..just thought you would like to know before several guys encounter the same situation and it becomes a conspiracy. Atleast it didn't go to Putnam. :ha:
Thanks for the site,
Mark

Guys,
Not sure what is up with that, still learning the ropes here. I will check in to it and get back to you.
Mark actually we are starting a new ponzi scheme here where money from new members is collected twice and sent to old members who we try to convince of the value of their investment!
Hey it worked on wall street, for a while anyway!

Figures...I was on two "Airplane" schemes that worked that way back in the late 80's. They both crashed and landed several people in jail, I walked away a little poorer, but smarter. :blackflag:
Again, I don't need a response, just thought you needed to know. I'll stick Carter in the fence the next time I'm on the track with him and call it even.

Hey guys, I just stopped in here to check on some unsold classified items and found this thread. :o
Any Contributing Members that had signed up in the past, that had also set their accounts to be automatically recurring, were paid to me, and refunded instantly. Recently, there have been a few that have been triggered still that have been classified as "failed transactions."
I am no longer responsible for anything on DirtOval.com and I don't take any of the Contrinuting Member subscriptions. All of that should be going directly to Rob, through his PayPal account.
If you had a subscription that went to me, and wasn't overturned or refunded to your account, contact me directly at doug @ apexspeed . com (remove the spaces). I'll look into my account on this side, but I haven't seen any subscriptions that weren't overturned.
If you are looking to re-up, make sure you do it through the "subscriptions" link in your Control Panel, otherwise there is no record of a transaction, and you will not automatically be changed to a "Contributing Member."

Note:
The vBulletin subscription system is still screwed up and issuing automatic subscriptions to e-mail addresses no longer used if you had it set that way in your Control Panel account (automatic renewals). Starting at the end of this past August, PayPal now charges for refunds, so it actually costs me money to send a refund back to you if you aren't paying attention to y our settings.
At this point, I'm not paying for the refunds any more. If you have not checked your subscription settings by now, and you have not made the appropriate changes, you're not getting your full amount back.
Just so ya know. :yellowflag:
