Does anyone know what degree the stock suspension mount on a GBX? Is it better to have more degree in the front arms or less?

Thanks,

cw doesn't but dynotech has a 20 deg mount and i think i may have seen a 10 deg mount from them as well, both made for the cw cars.

What would 20 degree do for castor? Make it so you can have 30 degrees? Or for foam tire setups?

yes if u use 20 deg mounts, then it would bump up the caster at the wheel by 5 deg, so 25 deg block becomes 30, 20 deg block becomes 25, and so on. there is supposed to be a difference between say 25 deg caster at the wheel via 15 in the mounts + 10 on the caster blocks vs. the same 25 deg at wheel via 20 in the mounts + 5 on the caster blocks. i've only started to experiment w/ this, so i cant say for sure what the difference is, but my initial opinion is that less caster/kickup in the mounts but the same overall caster seems to have a little more aggressive/twitchy steering than more caster in the mount w/ the same overall caster. i'm sure arnie or some of the other suspension guru's can add some more input.

One thing you can do is use shims under the front 2 screws on the susp blocks. Between the chassis and the blocks themselves. I have 10thous under mine now. Seems to help the way it turns. Just my 2cnts worth.

What are the upper and lower hinge pin holes for? Foam or offroad tires. I use mine in the upper position. Like my dd. Which position would work good for buggy tires? Sprinter or latemodel. Loose track. Rob Arnie?

I wonder if DYN0TECH could make a block with 20degree top hole and 15degree bottom hole?I have used both upper and lower holes but I am using the lower hole now.The car has worked well either way.I replaced that tube that goes inbetween with a thicker one. They bend to easy . http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i301/SUTce/IM000548.jpg?t=1172377572

The upper/lower holes change your roll center height for the front end.
