Just got a NEW sprint from my local hobby shop that deals with great plains. It came in last week. Is this a new chassie the rear carriers are and the transmission is the up dated one since the instructions were for the old trans with spacers for motor mount and the carriers only have two holes on top. Since Rousch Racing has lost its way and I have always liked Tony Stewart and now I have one of his sprints looks like I'm a Smoke fan. And wanted to say I watched Nathen Dean in Waco awhile back very fast and very clean just wish the rest of the field would have been just 1/2 as clean. A good team driver

Yes that is the new things in the kit,They just have not updated the instruction manual yet.

Just a note on the new rear hub carriers - shim the ball joint up with a few washers so the camber link and hub carrier don't bind when you compress the rear suspension - but don't shim it so high that it hits the inside of the rear wheel.

Although the kit instructions do not reflect the minor changes to the kits in the past year or so, there is a coned washer supplied with the kit that spaces the camber link about as high as you can off the bearing carrier without grinding into a CW wheel.

question?? this past weekend i talked to Nathan Dean (real nice guy) about the new loose track kit for the gsx. and I was wondering when it might be available?? and also can I buy a complete gsx kit with this package?? I own a klein currently and am looking to buy a different car. thanx any info would be great!!

To the best of my knowledge the loose track kit is only available as an option, but as long as CW has the pieces in stock it should be available now. I know they have been a little tight on the graphite pieces recently.

I think what Wobitz is refering to is the new longer machined arms.

The loose track package is available but the new arms are not as of yet.

It would deffinately be nice if they sold the GSX enforcer in 2 different versions........

1) Standard kit.....basically as it is sold now (for high bite clay tracks)

2) Loosetrack kit......basically the kit with the loosetrack towers, shocks and the new arms
and bones (for loose dirt tracks)

Obviously the loose track version would be a little more expensive due to the longer shocks and towers and machined arms.

The way it is right now, for a guy to get into a CW car setup for a loose track, he has to buy the car, then buy the loosetrack package and then buy the machined arms and longer bones.

I think more loose dirt oval guys would look at the CW car if they could purchase it with the appropriate parts rather then buy everything seperately. Getting into a "loose track" CW car ends up being very expensive when buying it all seperately. It would be awsome if CW would consider this.

Yes that is exatly what I was referring to Mr Harper!! and you hit the nail on the head about the loose track kit! Now if I could just talk you into building me one of those BAD A$# cages for it!!!

We do intend to sell a complete kit that will include all of the loose track option parts in the box. And before everyone starts asking, no we do not know exactly when that will be. We are making a small run of machiined arms to see how they go over and if the response is good we will go from there. As far as the #1206 loose track package, we have been unable to get the shocks from associated for more than 8 months now. The towers and other parts are available though if you can find some .89 shocks elsewhere!

I bought a new GBX sprinter after Tracker above did. Some parts were missing from my Kit but my Local hobby shop was able to get the parts from CW in less than a week.

- It does not have the Lightweight chassis or updated instructions.
- It does have the: the new style rear hub carriers, conned washers (to space the ball link up) and CW's gearbox.

While the GBX seems to work pretty good on the outdoor track I race on, it does bounce allot. I'm using the box set-up with the exception of the battery tray being set forward and left and the wider front axels. I have B4 rims on the front and B3rims on the rear. For the bounce I'll try a softer spring this up coming weekend. However ASC9490 rims are nearly impossible to find in any color. The rear B4 rims just about rub up against the shock. What rims can I run to solve this problem? Will the the new CW 3254 xl rear arms help? What bone would I need to use for this arm? What about a shock change? Will it be needed for the new arm?

Been doing some reading. It seems the new Light Weight chassis will allow the use of rear B4 rims when the rear toe mounts are mounted on the outside holes. What about longer shocks will they be needed since the shocks(TC3) that come with the kit are already mounted on the inside hole of the A arm. Will mounting the shocks on an outside hole on the tower work too. Can you simply screw the shock shaft out a couple turns to allow for enough droop? Like CW said haven't been able to get .89 shock's in awhile!

I know lots ofquestions!!!!!!! But before I drill the chassis or buy another one I'd like to have a good idea what all I'll need to make it work.

I haven't done this specifically on a CW car but have on another type. In order to run the B4 rims, get two Losi BK2 CVD rear axles and the wheel spacers that go with them. They space the wheel away from the hub carrier.

RCinit: I am assuming you are running where you need buggy tires. Usu you need much softer springs than what comes in the kit, something in the 3-4 pound range is my best guess. When you go this soft, and with the bigger tires, you need more suspension travel. Lengthening the shock won't be the cure-all because you need the shock to travel more, not just be longer. For the longer shocks we have the taller 1270 and 1271 shock towers (Front and Rear). There is room to drill holes on the stock chassis to have it just like the 1239, that I am certain, if you have one to copy then there you go.

Hope this helps.

Yea, No foams allowed where I race in Waco and Killeen Texas. Surprisingly even with the bounce the gold and silver springs give the car, it still works good. Hopefully by switching to blue and green it will soak up the bumps without changing the handling. My Local Hobby shop has already ordered a new chassis to check out. Not to sure if I'll change to the longer towers for a couple of reasons. 1. No shocks are availbe right now. 2. We are trying to keep the playing field level for the few racers running car. Not who has the most money.

Arnie Fie and Dean, changing to buggy springs and going lower on the shock oil hasn't really made the sprint any faster but it does soak up the bumps better and drivablity is greatly improved. I can put it in different lines and still get the same lap times. Guess I need to go with a faster motor now.

What is the recommended starting point for the shocks on the loose track kit? I put the loose track kit on my GBX enforcer and I'm looking for a good starting point for the oil and pistons for an outdoor semi-loose clay track using B4 rims and tires.
