very very optimistic price. I have seen tricked out ones for $200 because most places dont run um anymore and u need a real smooth track to run um. I got one with TC3 shocks on it. Had to have mounts made so it will run on a lil bit rougher track but nobody is running them. wish they were! mine holds track record 28 laps in 4 min 340 foot centerline track that foams will not work so I run 4wd front offroad tires on all 4. The new classes 2wd run 5 min and best is 30 laps so far in 5 min , the dom should do 35 in 5 min!LOL. Its so much fun to drive its like being on rails when set up good with a brushless and 6 cells its a missle!
thanks

I guess I'll hold on to the one I have hanging in the garage. Some parts are original Yokomo Dogfighter parts and as such will one day become extinct. That'll drive the prices up and then maybe somebody will have a need for mine. Nah, I'd never sell it. I still have some slotcars from the 60's.

It's cool to be able to show it to somebody that has never seen one and give them the whole "Back in the day" speech. Oh yeah? I've done that a time or two and even threw some electronics in it on a dare the year before last and took it down to the indoor track in Ocala.

It was fun to run but I was real easy with it since I only have a spare part or two and that track has wood outside walls. Mine was bought new by me in 88 and is one of the early kits but does have the offset chassis as opposed to the earliest ones(like on E-Bay) that have the sadle pack option.

I just threw away the original wheels and dirt special knobbies a few weeks ago in a box of even older offroad stuff.

If I can get the old scanner to work I'll post up some Florida style old dirt oval racing pictures for all to see.

Wow, someone did a BIN at $250 (down from $450)? It wasn't new, but had some new parts on it, and no tires. Still too much for a car without a class, IMO. I guess whatever the market will bear, right? I figured between $175 and $200 for that car...

I wonder what my SRP-1 is worth. :D

Down here in Sumter SC we have a class for them. Brushless and I believe 3800 batteries. We call it "Outlaw Latemodel" Man are they fast! :skull:

What is one of these things worth in good condition that's ready to run?

I picked one up in a trade and would like to know the the value and to sell it off. So if anyone is interested let me know.

pics of it are in the vintage classified area

Generally it depends on the condition, and the amount of spares with them. Tires, bodies and other throw-ins grow the price, too.

I've watched "used" cars go from $150 to $200, with pure beaters between $100 and $150. Clean and fresh cars, to new and un-run cars usually go well over $200, but usually stay below $300. A NIB car could fetch $300-350, easily, with the right buyer.

Something that has been taken care of seems to be ever rarer lately. I would expect an average example to float right around $175-$185, give or take.

Doug's pretty well right on. Some other items to look for... The newer chassis with the battery tray and a slider-steering rack instead of the old metal steering hardware is definately more desirable. Reinforced x-pattern a-arms are getting rare to see, as are cars that have extra/well maintained one way bearings. Always look for the rear sway bar option. An EARLY model chassis with the battery slots for saddle packs would appeal to a "vintage" buyer as will a car with the wide foam tires on it.

On a seperate note I did stumble across some NIB Trinity dominator/yokomo yz-10 rims in flouresant orange, and yellow in a old hobby shop the other day that I scooped up :D Unfortunately they were mostly the "4wd front pin spike" width rims. Still pretty cool though.
