Do you mean this one?
I boughy it off ebay in oct '06 for $20shipped. I'm not sure who made it, but it works well. the black adjusters have "SMC" on them, otherwise no identifying marks.
anyone know who made it?

i think there was 2 companies that made them one had self centered jaws and one had offset jaws like the one pictured. one of the companies was called steady lift i think.

The stand pictured appears to be a Lightning Products Steady Lift. Panavise also used to make a few nice stands.
For those who have purchased a stand like that pictured above on ebay, what did you search for? I'm looking to buy one of these stands but haven't had any luck so far.
