Anyone remember the MIP Trailing arm conversion for the RC-10 Tub car? I still have a complete car with copied trailing arms out of alum. and it works very well. I wich MIP would bring back this kit up-dated for the newer oval cars.

"Trailing arm kit".........That sounds neet, I would sure like to see a picture of that.
Just thinking about when I first started into RC....I had a tamiya sand scorcher and my buddies had tamiya falcons. No mater what I did, I had a heck of a time trying to run the neighbor hood offroad track with them. Then the RC10 came out and I found a way to buy one and then put the hurt on them boys! It was great. They had kicked my butt and made me like it for a long time and then everything changed. LOL! Then I discovered an actual race track in Tulsa and from the first visit, I was hooked. I started racing with a futaba stick radio, bushings and the old style speed controls operated by a servo and then slowly built up to bearings, then a pistol grip radio, then an electronic speed control and finally got into the sprint cars. Then the battery wars started. There was 1200 then the "SCR" then 1400 and so on (and on and on and on and on still today!)I was scratch building cars back then in 1986 (I know, not all that far back) and also had a Big Boy Toy Vindicator and was having a blast. All that probably kept me out of a lot of trouble! LOL. At one time, here in the Tulsa, Ok area, there where 6 indoor dirt ovals going at the same time.....all with a big following of totally different people and all running full cage electric sprints. That was the good ol days (for me)! I still enjoy this hobby very much and now my 12 year old Daughter races with me as well and we are building alot of good memories together. I guess thats my big "vintage, old time" story. LOL!

The MIP trailing arm kit I have is made out of fiberglass. It had three individual plates, one large one for the mount, and two smaller arms. The arms were attached by this trick little aluminum block with a steel swivel that you could adjust for camber. The hub carriers were round plastic ones that they used on on-road cars of the day. I still have them somewhere. The only aluminum trailing arm kits that I knew of were from Alec & Lane (A&L).

Yes, you were right all of their kits were fiberglass, but our Machine shop buddies copied all these parts in high quality alum and made the bearing carries of alum. I think MIP was one of the leaders of tha time in designs. I would love to see those reproduced in grafite today.

I still have a set of those arms around and would sell them to someone if they wanted. They were highly polished I believe.
