I know there are a lot of guys here who have been doing this for a long time, and many that still have a lot of old cars and gear from many years ago. This forum might not get a whole bunch of use, but there will be a lot of enthusiasm, for sure. There were some great years for dirt oval racing, and it will be nice to see how others remember those times, as well as give some younger and newer racers an idea of what it was like.

There is also a new sub-forum for the new Dirt Oval R/C Hall of Fame, which we will be telling you more about as we move forward into 2007. We think that there will be a strong following onto the new Hall of Fame and it's forthcoming nominees.

More to come...

Wanted to share a couple of pics from South Carolina. These are from '87 and '92 I think. Top pic is the first track we ever raced on, and the other is the last. Started with RC10 & Traxxas Bullet conversions with pin spikes, ended with CW Intimidators and silicone foams.

Excellent idea for a new forum section! I've been racing since 87, minus maybe a couple years, and all on Dirt Ovals. If it goes left on dirt, I've probably played with it at one time. I started out with a Tamyia Hornet, to a Falcon, then a progressively modified RC-10. I have an Ascot RC-10 sprint car coversion I raced for a while before the Enforcer came out. I helped Rob Freyvogal develope the Badger, and also drove a car he designed called a Checkmate. I raced a C/W Intimidator for a while in the mid nineties. In the late nineties, with help from Rob, I developed a car I called a Devastator (hence the user name). I raced a car Nick DeAngelis built for me, before the C/W Intimidator GBX was out, that was the rear half of a Terminator with the front half of an Intimidator. Nick called it "The X", and it was one of only a few cars to ever go 51 laps in Gearbox Stock at Kranzels. I also have a Titan/Reflex 10, and a Raborn Invincer that I bought just for collectability purposes. There are a lot of great racers still racing from 15+ years ago, so everyone chime in with there favorite "member when?" stories!

Vintage? I just started racing again after a few years and I'm still racing the car I built from RC 10 parts and a sheet of graphite, 17 years ago....
