Ok,
So after hearing alot of different ideas of what to run for a header/pipe combo on the GSX. I ran across a pic of Arne Fie's car at the Summer Nationals at Monee. He looks to have a B4 on the LR, Offset LR arm, and it doesn't look to hit the pipe.

Soooooo.....What combo did he run? I know this doesn't seem to work with the actual buggy tires but I just want to work on the Monee thing and then when summer comes I will try a b2 rim on the LR with regular arm length.

Thanks,
Josh Secor

Hey Josh,

The arm's are stock CW arms/b2 arms. At one point at one of the Monee races we tried what will be our new molded B2 replacement arm, but this pic looks like the stock B2 arm. I have never had any other length arm on the car as far as memory and notes go.

The header/pipe combo on that set-up looks to be the RB pipe and an old header I probably twisted to clear the LR tire. The header in that pic only swoops back toward the LR about half the diameter of the header itself.

As far as what header/pipe combo to get, try the THS kits.
They have....
Offroad set-up that stays really inboard so it clears the inside sidewall of the LR, good pipe for rubber tire, tons of bottom end.
Onroad set-up, that you will have to bend the header on to keep off the LR with rubber tires. Probably the better choice between the two, might not be enough bottom end for buggy tires. A vise, some pliers with a rag on the teeth, and a little heat will work. You want to turn the header clockwise on the motor to get it away from the LR, then bend the outlet of the header back down to where you need it.

Hope this helps...
