Steve Delong's new CW sprinter. not the best pics ,but thats how it goes... its black with red and goldleaf numbers. the pinstripes are actually painted on.., gives it that vintage late 80's look, like the TMC swindell car.

wow Dave thats being harsh on Phils car! lol... And he isnt all that fast he is just a great driver! . i dont like to comment on other peoples work/paint jobs.. i prefer to let people decide for themselves.. its all in the eye of the beholder .... i just try to do what i think looks good.. personally i still perfer an all painted car over vinyl.. the fun part with lexan is painting everything backwards on the inside! i made and painted both of these all on the inside with just masking tape and a cheap paint brush, back in the 80s.. "im going down memory lane again..lol

Very nice ride on the #1 sprinter, I like the look a lot much as I always loved Swindell's TMC ride (even if not a Sammy Swindell fan LoL).
In as far as paint vs. cut vinyl vs. printed vinyl... it's like the difference between oil and acrylic, everyone has their fanhood and some even love them all. I tend to fall into the category where I think they're all a means to an end, and all a tool to get you where you want to be with that masterpiece you're working on. I love a well-done hand-lettered car as much as I love to see what Panther and Solo and the rest put together in printed vinyl, or even cut vinyl done by the myriad of people that have access to the materials and plotters/cutters for doing it. I think it showcases all the more talent when you can do it all, and use all of them to the utmost out of your own creativity and efforts (i.e. not just relying on clip-art .eps CD's and the like). I've painted in acrylics a lot, but if I could afford the investment I'd like to do some work in oils or maybe even an encaustic process. Much the same if I was in the sign industry... I'd probably love to work in cut, printed, hand painted, and airbrushed works. I think it makes you more well-rounded as an artist, which is really what it all boils down to in the end. That's not to say you can't stick to your medium of choice and wield it well... that's just to say I admire those that tackle a challenge and even find a way to work in each separately as well as integrate it all together cohesively into one work where it all flows. I love it all. :)
Keep up the great work!

Well the truth comes out Mr. Marsh you do not like the work of the 112. I have never been one to have a fancy paint scheme it is just too much work. Another reason is it never made sense to invest that type of time in a paint scheme when I would just be changing the design of the body anyway. But I must say Ross does such a great job I am seriously thinking about having him do all my lexan for the Open Wheel this year. That is only if he is interested in doing so.
On another note Ross is right about your driving. As I had said before you made great improvements this year and I hope you have a great experience at Cooper's this year.
Ross I will get a hold of you on Monday and if you want you can get my cell phone number from Steve.

Naaah phil i like your paint jobs, just have to bust on you someway. I am going to have Ross do somthing for me for Coopers too.
Thanx for the compliments guys, I thought i used to be a good driver way back when in this hobby, it only took me 3 years to start driving better, then the track closes, go figure.
Do we have an idea about how many guys will show up next sunday an Trains n Lanes?

I was gonna be there, but of course now I have to work. I really would like to be involved in some way, but I will not make the meeting. Happens every time something I want to do comes up. All of a sudden I have to work that day DAMMIT!!!!
