I see race results here with classes for big block and small block,car and truck but best I can tell it has nothing to do with what motor is in the car or even if it's gas or electric.Could someone please explain? Does it have something to do with the 1:1 DO cars back east?

small block= moderate drivers, stock motors
sportsman= beginer class,stock motor

In nitro racing . Big block are cars like custom works bms ect. and small blocks are truck based. All using .12 engines.

we all talk about rules and a govering body. that is a whole nother topic i rather not get into, but one would think this class thing could be a general thing for most of the us. makes it a tad bit easier.

I like to see Mod kept as a seperate class. No motor rules! Then the Stock motor classes divided up into 3 levels. Because some guys don't like to race when they know they have no chance at a win. Me I just have fun racing, because I'm lapped traffic. It's a dirty job but some body has gotta do it...LMAO.

Jim, I hear ya on the lap traffic. But honestly, if it wasn't fun and the guys weren't fun...I'd be bowling, shooting darts or something.

It is strange how Syracuse is the only area that has the beginner & intermediate classes swapped. Imagine my face when I signed in for Sportsman and got stuck with newbies...talk about a challenge to make laps?? :D

The problem with multiple stock classes is that it gets to thin. Too many classes and not enough racers. if there is 17 people for EDM Stock, now you will have a good thick field to a C main. But, no... what does 90 % of the tracks do... allow 2 classes so you have 8 in SB and 9 in BB. Pretty gay.

Like Terr said, There should only be one stock class.

But then again.... since 4 people would complain about this it would be passed on. Nothing personal Jim, its just that is the excuse I always here. " Well at least I have a chance of winning". When I was calling the races at FR the same 3 people complained about the fact we went from SB - BB to unified stock class. One of those 3 people started putting it in the show and would every now and then put it in a top 3.

I am only a supporter of a secondary class if it was the "DRP Class" :D

I understand the theory behind one class and this isn't meant to be arguementative but, I don't honestly think that you'd want the newbie in your heat though. Can you imagine a heat of Pete, Terry, Billy and a few others...with one or two newbies in their heat race? :o

Let's say said newbie spun and one of you hit them...wrecking the front of your Terminator, what then? I see the need for two stock classes really, Sportsman & BB.
