That body is just about perfect. Now we need one that is about another inch wider so they fit the Nitro cars. And so I don't have to make them!

Hi- Thanks for the response and feedback. Regarding a wider Late Model body... we do have Tulsa Late Model body that is just shy of 9" wde. Unfortunately the Tulsa is at the limits of our equipment capabilities on size. That's why we don't get into 1/8 scale. The Knoxville is 210mm for Nitro Touring cars on dirt oval.

Thanks

Yeah, I need a latemodel body that looks that nice to fit a buggy conversion. Any hope for that? JAMMIN

I have to agree with Mega on this one, everytime you tackle a late model body Gary it gets better and better. This is the best one so far. :) Keep it up. The air cleaner and air cleaner shroud on this one is quite cool. My question... would this fit a gas touring car or would that be strictly McAllister Knoxville territory, just curious? I like the Tucson body better but I'm leaning towards gas eventually when I get around to getting a car.

Just need someone to make a deck with cockpit shroud and molded driver figure you can put in under the body and cut the windows out now for all of these bodies. :D

Hi....The tulsa would be our best body for the buggy conversions. You'll have to take measurements to determine fit. The Tulsa is between 8 7/8" and 9" wide. There may be some wheels out there that have less offset that would help too.

The Tucson, Knoxville and Hagerstown can all be used on Nitro touring cars. Again, it depends on the wheel offset and how much clearance you prefer as to which body would be best.

Thanks

I'm not sure what buggy you are putting a late model body on, but I have seen some B3 and B4 buggies with the stock shocks and towers and using a Tulsa body. I have a 4-wheel drive buggy and I have set a Tulsa body on it and it fits pretty good. I like the Tulsa, it's a nice looking body, but after seeing this new one I would like to have a Tucson that was the same width as a Tulsa. ;)

I built a b3 with oval kit from Kipps with tc3 shocks and the Tulsa body was a perfect fit!!

I measured up my CW GSX and the late model body that I've made for it. For the body to clear the rear tires the bodies need to be at least 9.5" wide for that to happen.

Hey Gary...

No need to form a complete 1/8 body...
...How about you just mold 1/8 scale late model noses, roofs, hoods seperately? We can build the rest out of flat lexan and bolt it all together like we do now, but with a molded nose, the homemade bodies will look exactly like the real thing!

Hi Grant-

Would you mind starting a new thread to see if there is a consensis on size for a 1/8 Late Model body? Primarily overall width, wheelbase and overall length. That would give an idea of sizing for components. We might consider that possibility.

Thanks

Hey Gary, you should consider copying the racing products page (from above) into your signature so anytime you post, people can click the link and go view your site. The link code would look like:

[url*]http://www.mcallisterracing.com/racing/[/url*]

Or if you want to have it look the same as currently and link-off to the site...

[url*=http://www.mcallisterracing.com/racing/]Race with the Flying M[/url*]

Just a suggestion. Might prevent people from having to ask what your site is. Not that it's that big of a deal to answer. LoL Just that it might give them an immediate source to click on rather than ask and have to wait for an answer. ;)

Hi Marcus-

Thanks for posting the website. I wasn't sure if it was appropriate to put our website on the forum. ???????

BIGBEN-

The Speedway Sprint hood is approx. 2 1/2" wide on the body, 2 1/8" wide at the nose and 11" long. Not sure about the CW chassis.

Thanks

Hi Marcus-

Thanks for posting the website. I wasn't sure if it was appropriate to put our website on the forum. ???????

I don't know what everyone else thinks but I think it's very appropriate. "Knowledge is power." as has been said in the past (I believe it was on a cartoon in my youth... showing my age. LoL), and having access to a knowledgeable source of dirt oval bodies and accessories in a dirt oval community such as this is very important to not only the sustainability of the sport, but is inherent on it's growth and survival. Whether that be vinyl graphics (i.e. Corsa, Vinyl Trix, Panther, et al.), vaccum-formed or custom fab.'ed bodies, chassis', kits, etc. I think all of those that provide a service to the community should be encouraged to make access that information, and I can't see how it could be perceived as negative at all. The only negative would be if, and I stress *IF*, only one party was allowed to and others were not or blackballed/precluded from having an equal opportunity.

Besides... It's not like it's an annoying pop-up ad... noone's holding a smoking gun to anyone's head to click it if they don't wish to.

Gary thanks for the hood by the way! I ran it last nite and worked out great. It gave the car a bit more steering and it looks great.
I know I will be ordering bodies again soon and I think that is whats going to go in my kits from now on.

Grant Here in N.C. we are building our own 1/8 scale bodies. please talk more about molded noses, roofs, ect. thanks BEAMER

1/8 racers-

We need to see some discussion on sizing before we can consider formed nose or roof pieces. Primarily widths and wheelbase.

Thanks, Gary McAllister

I'll be ordering the late model body.

I'll be running into his late model body :D purely accidentally of course, not much skill in the driving area yet..

I think I'm going to put one on order also, very cool looking...
