Without starting too much of a contriversy........I was just wondering why it seems that a lot of people that have bought the GSX are selling them shortly after they purchase them. Is there difficulty getting parts? Have there been problems with performance?

I have not seen one on the the track yet (besides Billy Fischer which is a special circumstance) and I would like to know how these cars have been treating people.

If you look over time you see Kleins for sell too .... now you are seeing GSX's for sell.... I believe it is b/c each of them have sold close to 200 cars this year alone. So odds are you have a better chance of finding someone that builds it and says ummm these guys are fast ... or ummm these guys are fast ... or man this is a lot of work where is my truck ...

Sure volume suggets that you will always see more Kleins / GSX's for sell.... I also saw them both up front at the last big race I went too....

I love mine and it works well on our track which is hard packed high-bite.

I know I was saying to myself, what the hell did I get myself into. I've run my truck once on the oval, usually do offroad. Yeah, I easily worked my way near the front. With the sprint, it's just everywhere. Spins, etc. Lots of suspension tuning involved, just haven't had the time to get it done. My girlfriend drives a midget. Talking with her dad has helped a lot. I think it's a matter of having someone with r/c scaled experience to do the final tuning. If I was by myself, with no help, I think I'd say screw it.

I like mine as well....had some goofy luck with it really good and really bad...but the good far outweighs the bad and 9 times out of 10 the bad was caused by being in the wrong place at the wrong time and getting clobbered. no plans on selling mine!!!

I like my GSX. Our track is hard packed, normally high traction. Also, in our area a lot of guys run the truck based sprint car. With the GSX I don't have to run the really big horsepower to compete. In the long run, it seems to be more economical to run and highly competitive.

In my opinion (as well as my personal experiences), Custom Works cars have always had the reputation of being "out-of-the-box" A-main winners. The truth is, no car is an Out-of-the-box winner on every track. The GSX, just like every Custom Works kit before it is capable of winning races on any high bite/smooth track. In order to get the car to work on different track conditions such as loose dirt or rough surfaces, you have to adapt the car from its factory settings and equipment.

I think once a loose track setup is comercially available for the car, it will be the most logical Nitro Sprint kit choice for most new drivers to the class. The car's availability and relative completeness of the kit means that many people previously afraid of trying to build a Nitro Sprint Car will give it a go (kind of like I did). As for me, I have made some adaptations to my kit, but aside from some different rear shocks my kit is pretty much as-delivered. I've been very happy with the cars performance...the driver's performance, well thats another story.

Last friday night Maurice TQ'ed with his Custom Works car. 46 laps at 5.05. That was two laps faster than any other sprint car that night. That is on a track with a driveline in excess of 265 ft. A few weeks ago he was all over the track. Different nights and different track conditions. Almost ever car kit that I have ever seen will win in the hands of a good driver. For the rest of us it takes alot more patience and sweat. I do not own a GSX, but I think they are well designed and can be made to perform very well. I have a Bulletproof sprint car, an Out Front frames sprint car, and may buy a GSX soon. You can never have too many toys.

I ordered my GSX the day they were released, from Kipp, & have been running it regularly since. I love it. In fact, I just bought one of those in question in the opening post of this thread. Now I have a spare that will likely end up as my "loose dirt" car.

Feel safe selecting the GSX - it ROCKS!

I don't know why guys do this, but it seems at the end of the season some racers sell off their gear or car, and then buy new next season. The GSX is a very good car, but some areas have no indoor nitro racing facilities. Also, some guys like to sell off their car after a season and build a new one. Nothing beats that new car feel!!!

If your thinking of a GSX, don't base it on Billy Fischer! That guy makes that car look like it uncontrolable. His driving is amazing to watch. Every turn he hits, you know he is gonna put it in the wall...not the case, its sick to see how fast he goes around an oval track. I got the opportunity to see him run at Newville and so did many people. When he went to the driver's stand a crowd gathered around the track to watch this guy pilot his sprinter around the track. Great run Billy! Hope to see you again maybe at coopers!

Fisher made a save in last years AZ Winter National that was unbelievable. He was WFO and had to miss a parked car in turn 1 --- as he swerved car went nuts --- got on the lid for a brief second ... during the roll over he was already self marshalling the car and ended up full throttle and pointed in the right direction. Some call it luck .... I just said ...ummm WOW

I agree --- watching Cramer, Fisher, Dean and Joe D go out at it in last years race was truely amazing. It speaks volumes on how good the AZ racing scene was over the past few years ... as you throw in Joe D, Jerky, Dennis, Raymond, Mike L, .... and all of the other local hot shoes .... Mania had to of been one of the best (I said "one" of the best) local racing scenes in the country.

I agree it seems if you look at race results every year all the drivers seem to come from the same crop, Az, Monee and Newville.

I always felt the better the competition always pushed you to become better.
