You know what makes this sport so great? I enjoy going to the local track and having a good old time with fellow racer's that not only enjoy the sport but don't mind helping you out and sharing things that have worked for them. This Saturday I was racing at our local track and Craig (thats Mr. Dirt Oval) stoped by to test and tune his own car for an upcoming race next week and he took the time out to help me fine tune my sprint car. To me thats what makes this sport so great.

Was he actually helping you...or was he making sure your wouldn't be in the way...lol **JUST KIDDING** ;)
This hopbby is one of the few that your opponent will "help" you. I was always told, if there's a guy that's fast and he's struggling...best to help him to make sure if he is in your heat, he's not into you every other lap.
For the most part, the racers are a helpful group....some more so than others.

If you do the opposite of what Craig says it actually works better.;)

I'm sure he'd like me to stay out of his way and not in his quarter panel. We even stayed after the races were over to experiment with the handling of my BMS. It already handles well but the fine tuning was just an added bonus. Hey I even remember Chris O. giving me pointers when he still raced.

anything i can do to help.
btw...TQ.. it's not about keeping other racers out of the way, it is about keeping the fellow racers coming back to the track. if you help a racer better his car, then he is more likely to come back to the track. for me, it's about keeping the tracks alive and the competition healthy.

I like the racer that helps other racers NO mater what the surface being raced on is. What I don't like is a racer who runs on surface X and bad mouths or bashes any other surface or style of racing. As for me I like dirt.asphalt, concrete and carpet racing and have almost missed heast helping others a best I can. After all it's a hobby first and a sport second.

I wish I had a racing scene like you guys do. Here, the racing is the only thing thats any fun at all. The people here are something else. I made an offer of $40 for a tc3 rally kit that someone was trying to sell, and all of a sudden I am one of satans henchmen. I immediately get accused of making a false 2nd username to make a second offer of $40. Then they say I am trying to belittle them with my offer. This is coming from someone I only met once, and had alot of respect for as well. Everything anyone does at my local track seems to have some hidden meaning behind it, all of which is of course negative. I am sure this thread will be the topic of choice shortly.....Its rediculous. Why? Why is any of this a big deal? Why not just race and have fun. I literally find myself traveling 350-1,000 miles to race just to not deal with these people. And they wonder why they only have 5 people showing up to race.
And just so there is no confusion..outkast187= BPP, so dont think I am hiding behind another user name guys. I will post my name, # and adress if there is still some confusion.
So hopefully you guys with the killer racing scene will not take it for granted.

[size=2]even though I'm not at you guy's levels.. I was there saturday, and everyone was helpful.. Slacker especially, I wasn't there for an hour and a couple of the guys had already helped me a lot.. they didn't even laugh at me..
I did enjoy watching the guys share tips with each other, I tried to catch what I could and put it away for later use (I'll have to learn to not run into the walls as much first though)
