can anyone help me? I'm going to try my first race saturday at RVR, here's the problem though, the car isn't completed yet and by the time I get to the track saturday I'll have very limited time with a car that is freshly finished. If you have any ideas where to set up the chassis, I sure would appreciate it.. I'd like to not be a road hazard when I get on the track..

Hey Stratcat, I'm running a xxx-nt as well. As long as you have your strickers on I would'nt worry to much about the rest. I'll be there saturday it wont take long to get it set up. If you want I can let you set it up like my xxx-nt is set up then you can fine tune it to your style. I'm running 50w oil in the front shocks and 60w oil in the rears. I don't know if you have new stricker tires or not, if you do you will want to break them in. Just take it out on the pavement and do some left hand circles (Large circles-like the size of the track). This should at least get you started.

thanks man!!! I owe you many for this..
you were actually my master plan, hang out in the corner of your pits and sneak looks at your setup to see where you were with it.. I was hoping that you'd be cool with me borrowing yours..
see ya saturday...

Not a problem. I started off the same way and there were a lot of helpful people showing me how to set my cars up. We still trade helpfull info back and forth. Thats one of the things that makes this sport so fun. Missed you saturday, hope to see ya next saturday, I'll be in my corner.

yeah, it was a nightmare man!!!
I got the truck wednesday, started working on it.. got parts thursday to start getting it going, picked up more stuff friday. I was up till 2am getting it together and right, took a nap and woke up saturday morning to test drive it. I fought with it for about 5 hrs, it wouldn't start, the engine wouldn't crank on the box.. finally, I lost patience and rather than go to the track and spread my gloom decided to postpone racing for a week..
I did tear it apart and got it back together and running today, so I should be there this coming saturday unless Mr. Murphy decides to pay me a weekend visit again..
an update for ya...
I took it to the high school parking lot and ran it, it's pretty rippin', I think the slipper may be shot, but I can work on that this week.. what time do you normally show up on saturdays?

I like to get there early if I can about 3:30 or so, so I can make sure things are working smothly. I had the sprint car going pretty good saturday till I sheared the wheel pin right off never done that before. At least it is an easy fix. Look forward to seeing ya saturday.
