Has anyone converted an electric GBX into A nitro GBX? If so, is it just the matter of buying a couple different extra parts or is it more complex?

its more complex. the GSX (nitro) has a completely different chassis. it is thicker and a lot different. although the GBX and GSX share the same suspension components there are many things different.

So its not just the matter of unbolting the front and rear suspension and bolting it to the thicker chassi?? I don't have one, but just woundering. There are a few ovals that I can get to but they all run electric in the fall and winter and then till the oval under in the summer. I am working closely w/a hobby shop owner to do an oval in a large off-road outdoor track next spring. just thought if I got that, I could get some more use out of it.

Wouldn't it be better save the frustration and buy a GBX nitro?

It's really a different car. The nitro cars use a completely different tranny and driveline, and the chassis is totally different. I can't see any benefit from trying to rig something up with your electric car to run nitro when the GSX is so perfect right out of the box. Motor mounts, clutches, brake and throttle linkage, carge mounts and supports, fuel tank, servo mounts, driveshafts, gears... its a lot of parts that you'd be buying separately. As far as I know, too, the front ends are also wider with different shock towers on the gas cars, too.
Sell one, buy the other. Or just buy the other and have both! :D
