I was just wandering what the best engine would be for my oval RC10GT. I need a side exhaust .12 to .15 engine. It needs to be in a reasonable price range. 150 to 250 dollars

You can get a 12 cvr off of www.towerhobbies.com (http://www.towerhobbies.com/) for 109.

slide carb or rotary carb? which is best? I remember reading somewhere that one has an advantage over the other (I think it was slide)..

better thottle response with the slide carb but, a nightmare in linkage configuration. go with the rotary carb.

Actually slide is better to setup. Rotary you have to worry about the brake linkage and throttle linkage htting each other. Slide has quicker response.

I run a .12 cvr in my XXX-NT it runs great and I can for the most part stay up with the big boys. With the slide carb for faster reaction you still stay under $125 depending where you buy your engine.

one of the most important factors when deciding which engine to get is the durability and reliability of the engine. novarossi motors are very reliable and durable. i suggest you check out www.kleinrcmotorsports.com since klein is an authorized dealer of novarossi motors.

novarossi's don't break in as fast as os but they have longer life span than os. it may take you a full gallon of fuel before the novarossi really wakes up. but then after that, it's all fast fun.

I agree, the novarossi I have took alot of time before it was loose enough to where I felt it was ready to rip but it was well worth the extended break in time as it is rock solid. I think the fact that it truly takes alot more time before it starts to "wear in" says something about the quality of the piston material and may maintain tight tolerances to hold good compression longer. Just my opinion.
