No I want to keep my manly parts intact so don't get any ideas. :p I have an older, Uh very old Intimidator and due to the inherant gearing problems associated with direct drive and todays much hotter motors I'm considering a transmission swap. I have an old 2.25 stealth(tm)transmission that spins for days and it looks like the likely candidate for the job. Other than spacing the tranny up to the required height for the correct outdrive placement what else does a racer have to worry about. I know I could just drop the dimes for a new car and be done with it but that's just too easy. I like taking the hard route, Losing the battle and then doing what I should have done in the first place but what the hay, Thats just me. :skull:

Get ahold of Rcer19 on this board. Nick is great to deal with and should have the parts you need to convert this to a gearbox car.

Thanks for the info, There are a couple more guys interested in this swap too, Does Nick have website?

Uh oh? The old 2.25 tranny won't fit between the suspension mounts. Grrrrrr! Looks like it'll stay direct drive for now.

You have to grind down the tranny or have the uprights milled....it will work in there.
