The 2.5 is just a .15 engine
The 2.5 was added as a marketing ploy by traxxas as it makes it sound like the engine is bigger than it really is.

Don't think so. Maybe for the Outlaw class in the West..........you just have to take a look at the rules.

They do run good...... they are rated at 1.3 hp. It is just a 3 port .15 with a standard plug. The last Nitro tour rules I read said .12 only.

I pulled a 2.5r out of my Revo tonight to test in an Enforcer GSX, but the kit clutch nut did not fit. Just an FYI.

Just the Traxxas clutch works good. If you just wanted to try it in your GSX you would just need to re gear.

the .15 engines are ONLY legal for use in the Smallblock EDM/Trucks class or the Open Sprint. The Nitro Sprint, Bigblock EDM, and Latemodels are .12 engines only.

the Open sprint class is only in the West region.
