I'm a gas newbie but been in elec. for years...I recently aquired a GT and purchased a OS .18. Where should I start for gearing? I'm clueless.... I'm in the process of laying out a 300 ft oval... for now I'll be running standard size wheels also.... hopefully thats all you guys need to know... thanx in advance...

i run a 20/62 or a 19/60 with a tr .12 on a 265 ft track.....seems to be working well not very much torque which is good off the turns but the 18 may step the torque up a little.....I would start about there

You talking about a 18cvr? I would start somewhere around 22/60 22/58.

brock,

what tires do you run on the rear(rubber truck tires? foam of some sort?), and what kinda lap times do you guys run?

I Am Currently Running Your Exact Same Set Up In My Gt. I Run On A 245foot Run Out In Jacksonville Illinois. I Use A 17 Bell And 60-63 Tooth Spur.the Answer Too Your Question Would Depend On Personal Prefference And Track Lay Out(tight Corners, Sweeping Wide Corners, Long Straights,ect.). If I Were Too Guess I'd Say....start With An 19 Bell And 62-64 Spur. Hope You Find Something From All This That Helps.
