Was just wondering if this particular car can be converted into a latemodel or EDM. If so, what do I need to do it, and where can I get it. Just basically want the look and to handle somewhat good, probably wont ever race it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Dave,
I would say that yes you could make that into a Late Model or an EDM. My local track has a late model and an EDM class that both require that a buggy chassis is to be used. You have the option of changing the shocks to shorter touring car shocks (you would also have to change the towers), but this is not needed. What we do at our track is change the body mounts and put the new body on it. That's all that is needed to get a good looking, decent handling EDM or late model. Our EDM class took off really wel last year and at the end of the season we added the late model class which sounds like it will go over well also.
Here's a pic of a completely stock B3 (only thing not stock is the body mounts) with a Tulsa late model body. Also here's a pic of my son's B4 EDM. It is a stock FT B4 with homemade body mounts and a EDM body from Kipp's Hobbies.

Ok, so for this b2, which shorter shocks will work on it? Also, what tires and wheels are mostly used, as I have seen alot of smaller foams I think. Where can I get some? Where did you get that Latemodel Body, and how much? Will it fit a b2? Sorry for all of the questions, just a newbie again, havent raced in 10 years.

If you think that you might decide to race this car, you might want to check your local track first to see if there is a class for you to race it in. If you have to race it against Intimidators and Terminators you might want to consider a different car. If you are doing this just to have a late model to play around with or for a class like our track has, then it should work fine.
Speed Racing Products has a B2 EDM conversion kit. They might offer the kit without the body so that you could use a late model body instead. Then you would just add touring car shocks (like from the TC3 or similar). Tires and wheels will depend on the track. The late model body that I used is from McAllister Racing, it is their Tulsa body and yes it would fit a B2 (with different body mounts). I think the body sells for around $15.00
You can also check with Daryl Lane at Factory Works. He sells nice bodies and also has some shock towers for use with short shocks (I'm not sure if he has anything for the B2 but it's worth checking into). Daryl is helpful and a good guy to do business with.
Hope that helps.

Curtis,
Thanks for being such a big help. I dont think I'm gonna race this, because the closest place is a couple hour drive. Our hobby shop closed a couple years ago, and Its been about 10 since I have messed with RC's. I used to race carpet oval pan cars with Tony Stewart back in the day believe it or not. I wish that I could see him and ask him to sponsor me Some Custom Works Stuff :)

there is a dirt oval in lafayette
that chassis would be fine with some rubber tires and an edm body
and the hobby shop actually has the tires you would need (at least they did saturday)
there are some other type tracks in indy. you would have to go to hobbytown usa to check where
and i have no idea about southern illinois, but south eastern ohio might have a track
