I have a Custom Works GBX Intimidator with the cvd's. The cross pin keeps coming out of the cvd and hitting the arm. I have put heat shrink over the pin and cvd and it still pops out. I have put thread lock on the set screw. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can email me at jsrenard@adams.net
Thanks

Grind a flat spot in the pin and then threadlock the setscrew in against the flat spot.

The above comments are good and should solve your issue... but, if you still have issues once you have done those things ....you might want to check the slop on the bone / pin --- might be time for a new set...

if you can find some shrink tube to go around the cvd that works for me. but if the flat spot doesnt work then you may have a defective set? ive never had it happen when their 3 weeks old.

Threadlock only works on clean, grease free hardware.. Spray everything down with brake cleaner, and let the thread lock dry before running the CVD.

I pretty much do all the above to ensure no problems especially with the strain of nitro cars. Speedmunkey is right about the cleaning the oil/grease of the parts, thread lock is useless unless you do that.

I have been using CVDs for a long time, and I have never had one come apart on me, and have rarely used shrink wrap (rear hub clearance issues). But if you are having difficulty making them stay in once piece, there is a great article from HPI found here (http://www.hpiracing.com/walkthroughs/rebuild-cvd.htm). There is a great tip on putting a flat on the pin and it shows you exactly how to do it.

Good luck,
