I race a Nitro Terminator, and use a JR Synthesized radio, I have gone through 2 of these recievers in this car, has any one else experienced any of these problems, and does any one have any suggestions - I am thinking the recievers can't handle the added vibration

I run them in 1/8 scale buggies, electric oval, and in my boats, a crackerbox and a 50+mph mono and so far haven't had a failure in 3 seasons. Think you could have a fuel leakage problem?

i havent ever had a problem with my jr syn. recievers, had one in my truck for almost 2 years now. do you have it mounted with foam or rubber? or is their any gas maybe leaking into it?

I never saw any fail because of vibration but saw plenty fail because of fuel contamination.

Ditto ... I had some fuel spill on mine ... and it didn't make it :( My buddy had it happen and he sent it back and it was replaced free of charge.

Thanks guys, You all answered a few questions, I was hoping I could get these recievers repaired for one, and also hoping I could continue running them for 2, I don't believe I am getting fuel on these, but if so, maybe I will re-arrainge my chassis to move the reciever forward some more... Thanks

I haven't had any problems with my RS310 receiver but I did have a servo go bad.
JR stuff has a 3 year warranty, they replaced my servo with no problems, try it with your receiver.

I put mine inside a bicycle inner tube on my nitro sprint car and have had no problems so far.The car has had its share of tumbles including one that cleared the catch fence at Monee and the reciever was just fine .Try to enclose the area closest to your fuel tank and over lap the other end so it covers the recieverbut still gives you enough room to change channels by pulling the rubber back.Bob Krueger

I'd have to say it wouldn't be vibration as I used mine for 2 yrs in my Drake truck off road. I know plenty of guys who have contaminated the recievers. I also kept mine in a RPM box which helped keep it dry and I wrapped it in a cellulose material.

...and yes, JR does have a ohenomnial warranty !!!

Dan,

What kind of problem were you experiencing with the receiver? I bought a 1/4 scale car at the end of last year that had the synthesized JR installed. However, this past weekend I started having a few problems with the car not responding to my commands. It would be interesting to know if the symptoms were the same in both counts.

I recently sent a bad servo in to JR, it took about 2 weeks & a new one came in the mail at no charge.

Might check bearings and any metal/metal contact points...They can make radio "noise"....

I had to send back mine also a couple week ago and still waiting to hear the verdict.I barely got the motor broke in and the car never hit the track before it went and took both servos out with it.Yesterday I seen someone elses also go bad. Thats the second time he has replaced his now and only ran his car 3 times after replacing it.Is anyone else having any problems with these?

It takes JR forever, I would email them and see how far they are along of getting the receiver finished. They will give you a tracking number in the email. It took mine 3 plus weeks to get back.

I forgot to turn off one of our jr radios and it completely wiped it out. Called them up and talked to them--it was 2 months off the 12 month warranty ! They wanted more $$$ than it was worth to fix it. We have since switched to mostly Hi-Tech radios. We have had to have 2 repairs made -- one glitched and one I dropped!!!They repaired each one--FREEEE even the one I dropped! It was off the warranty and I told them up front I had dropped it 4 feet(broke the entire steering housing out)! They said they did not care about my dropping it.They said they service what they sell and fixed it FREE of charge!!! It took less than a week to get it back.Sure we have other radios but if I am speeding my hard earned money on new ones--we buy Hi-tech.Kyle likes his new CRX .Its easy to program and easy to use.No goining up on the stand with the radio in one hand and the manual in the other.Just my buck 50. Hey Bob, what's your plan for this fall? You guys gonna throw a sprinter together and come and have some fun with us? We missed racing with Kyle in the second half of the season last year, and we all had a complete riot racing just the sprinters, so I'm hoping we can get you guys back too, just to make the competition that much tougher.

Last I heard from Keith, he was gonna run a sprint pretty regularly, and I'd bet Howard and Scott to be pretty regular again, too (although Howard's married now, so his race career may just be over...LOL) Dilbert and Dane and I, of course, and I think we'll all have to slap the Kubistas around until they drag thiers out too. If we all work really hard, we can make them feel like they're total dorks for not running them...hehe

I had that one kid (I feel like a turd for forgetting his name now...Gawd I'm gettin old...) who spanked everyone in the trucks last year driving my sprint on the last night this spring, and he did really well with it, so we might just see some new blood this year too, if he can talk his dad into it... There are a couple other kids who ran the trucks last year that I think could do well in sprints too.

I'm really looking forward to having a lot of fun this fall, especially after having won the last race of the season last year. It'll be pretty nice working on 10th scale stuff again after all the work over the summer with the big car. RC stuff's just so much easier...LOL

Racers Edge makes a great soft vinyl (sp?) receiver cover that slips over receiver. It does an excellent job of keeping fuel off the receiver. It's kinda like a .... propolactic in reverse...???...

well for me mine came straight out of box and would not work. and since went through 3 of them. so i think there might be more of a issue then covering them up. since every time i send them back it is same problem so they send you a new one to replace it. saying they are having a problem with the solder that was used. hopefully they will get problem solved since i have always had good luck with there other products!!

I had a JR receiver go out they sent me a new one said it was a new design. The vibration causes the legs on the pots to break. Make sure when you get it back to wrap it is soft foam.
