I have a rc10gt and whenever I let it idle or if it is going slow, it seems to get a lot louder than when it gets to the higher rpms.

possible air leak?
Check your fuel lines for air leaks as well as your backplate.

If that doesn't fix you problem may try a new tank.

Check the screws going into the header from the front of motor. I had that same problem.

is the engine running hot ? most cases of eratic idle point to a air leak but that ill also casue high temps. air leaks are comon in the back plate, fule lines, fuel filters, base of carbs, high speed needles seats and front bearings.

Thanks 7sracing that was the problem. Was yours a RTR?

Yes it was a rtr rc10gt. Put some lock tight on the screws that seems to be working on mine

I would get longer screws and put a 4-40 flat nut on the back side of each header screw. It has worked for me. I now use in-line pipes. The problem is gone, unless a spring breaks.

you're gonna have to get a rear exhaust motor to use an inline pipe w/ a spring retained header.
the best bet for side exhuast motor was mentioned above.... longer screws to accomodate a 4-40 nut. don't forget the locktite.

You can use an inline pipe with your side exhaust motor if you would like. THS makes a very nice one to fit the side exhaust motors and it works awesome too!
You can eliminate the header coming loose problem by doing as mentioned above with the longer screws and nuts with loctite.
THS inline side exhaust pipe Pt# THS1050
Tower has them in stock for 50 bucks

Thanks for the link, I'll probably get one of those THS Pipes. They look sweet too.
