Here's some pics of my new Traxxas EDM.It's based off of an SRT(truck)chassis. The front uses the stock arms with B3 caster blocks, spindles, and wheels. The rear has XXX arms,HPI RS4 hubs,Street Weapon stub axles mated to Traxxas sliders, and XXX wheels. It still has the truck shock towers f/r-I just drilled new shock mounting holes in the front and redrilled the rear tower to move it down. The shocks are Losi buggy fronts all around. It has a McAllister body that I "restyled" a bit to make it look more like the IMCA modifieds we have around here.Hope it works!

Nice ride Chris! I really like it when people build stuff out of the ordinary. I think I like your shumacher better though. You should put some pics of it up.

bush1pa, what front arms did you use and how wide is it to the end of the spindles? im building a nitro sprint, rustler based on a trx1 chassis. im currently running rpm worlds car arms, but
they are out of production. thanks...

Randy-I lost all the good pics of my Fireblade.I still have it here in pieces-it may reappear sometime soon.
Stiffer-It's a McAllister body. They sell them with a molded center section and a flat piece to make your own sides and roof so you can make it look pretty much however you want.
Fastrax-Try contacting RPM directly-they may still have some of those arms they can sell you.If you are going to use the TRX-1 front bulkhead make yourself a tie bar for the front hinge pins-they are kind of fragile without one.

thanks drolds, i tried rpm, no dice. actually im using the rustler bulkhead with a bullet/radicator front aluminum shock tower. but with stock arms its to wide for DODC nitro sprint rules. the worlds rpm arms are a perfect fit. i understand the klien front arms are a copy. my goal is to build this car with as much traxxas parts, and off the shelf stuff as possible.my first draft is pretty fast. the new version will debut in pheonix may 14.
any ideas on a clutch bell bigger than 24 tooth, to fit a traxxas?

How wide does it need to be? Which spindles/caster blocks/front wheels are you using? I too always try to use unmodified common parts.I have already tried a whole lot of combinations of parts "re-engineering" my SRT oval truck.Sorry can't help on the clutch bell but you should post the question in the nitro forum-I know a lot if those guys are using Traxxas clutch bells on their nitro sprinters.

By request-
Randy-Thanks for prodding me to get this car back out.I'm really glad I kept it.I changed a few things around on it and I'm getting pretty excited about trying it out again.Only problem is if I break a front arm I'm screwed-can't even get them from Schumacher in England any more.
It would be a shame to put a 7" tall EDM body on this.
How low can you go.....................

Thanks Ellis-Here's a pic of a couple arms I have. The arm on the left is an original Fireblade 2000 arm-same as in the pics above. The arm on the right is a "non-SACS"arm for the later model Fireblades. There is also a third type that is shaped like the one on the left but without the raised boss to mount the shocks.Send me a PM if you have anything-a lot of Schumacher stuff is interchangeable.
I ran the car a couple of times at the indoor track with the stock rear shock tower which was a bit taller. It was very good and had a lot of potential but I never really followed thru on it.I have taken the best parts from both of my Fireblades and put them together so I have the lighter CF chassis with adjustable battery tray from the later car and the lay down transmission from the early car.We will most likely have a 2wd late model class at Checkered Flag next year. That is what I'm planning for this car,but with the shocks more upright.I think the extreme laydown shocks would only work on carpet with foams(yuck!)but I think it would work pretty good!
